SCIENTIFIC SEMINAR HELD ON THE TOPIC “SCIENTIFIC FOUNDATIONS OF NEUROMARKETING AND SALES PSYCHOLOGY”

On May 26, 2025, a scientific seminar titled “Scientific Foundations of Neuromarketing and Sales Psychology” was held at Baku State University (BSU), organized by the Student Scientific Society of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Psychology.
At the seminar, part-time lecturer of the Department of Psychology, Javad Javadov, delivered a presentation providing students with insights into the psychological and neuropsychological foundations of modern marketing. He emphasized that in today’s era of information overload and rapidly evolving consumer behavior, traditional marketing approaches are no longer sufficient.
Therefore, Javad Javadov identified neuromarketing — sales strategies based on the brain’s decision-making and behavioral mechanisms — as one of the most relevant approaches of the modern age.
The training featured in-depth discussions on the definition of neuromarketing and its key differences from classical marketing approaches; the interconnection between the brain and behavior; the roles of emotional and cognitive processes in decision-making; the scientific foundations of sales and psychological influence mechanisms; and the technological tools used in neuromarketing such as EEG, fMRI (MRI), GSR, and eye tracking.
At the end of the seminar, an interactive Q&A session was held, moderated by Seyidfatima Abbasova, Chair of the Student Scientific Society of the faculty. Participants asked questions, linked scientific knowledge to real-life situations, and engaged in broad discussions.
